The Halo Report is a weekly communication published during the school year the highlights school events for the upcoming week.
Greetings Parents/Guardians and Teachers!
Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer, as much as we did! As we begin our new 2017-2018 academic school year, we are excited to welcome our new teachers/staff, parents, students, and returning students to Saint Augustine Catholic School. We will start the new school year with our new theme titled, “This is my commandment; love one another as I have loved you” – John 15: 12-13. This theme gravitates to our improvements and new goals. One of our primary goals is to connect and communicate with each other. We want to encourage our students to be superior in their classrooms, and engage in new studies and activities. We would like to also welcome the new Homs School Association (HAS) President Ms. Nina Martin. We encourage all parents to join the HSA Team. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Martin at staughsapresident@gmail.com or 240-508-8026 for further information.
As a reminder Back to School Night is on Friday, September 15, 2017, at 6:00pm. Back to school night will give all parents an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, and learn valuable information about your child's education and your partnership with the school. We look forward to you being there!
New parents, we have our grading system, Rediker, which will be used for communication purposes between the teachers and parents. The parents will be able to access their child’s grades at home at any given time. We encourage all parents to take advantage of the system to better communicate with teachers, staff and to keep track of your child’s educational progress in school.
Health Forms: Parents, it is important that you return all health forms to the main office, which are required for your child to remain in school. If there are any delays, please provide a note from your child’s doctor for any reason that your child is not up to date on their health records. If you also need to update your contact information or make a change, please see the Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Woods, to ensure that your information is up to date. Attached is the Emergency Procedure Form, which tells the staff what your wishes are regarding your child in case of an emergency. This form is due back to school on Thursday, September 7, 2017.
We hope that you find this information helpful in this week’s Halo Report. Each week on Wednesday, you will find a new Halo Report in the main office and e-mailed to each parent and staff member. You will also find attached a new calendar and lunch menu. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the main office. We look forward to a wonderful and exciting school year!
Sincerely,
Sister Gloria Agumagu, HHCJ
